Chicken chow fun had great flavor, excellently tender chicken, and large portions and is a good alternative if you've been eating too much beef chow fun lately like I have. Baked cream sauce with spinach, fish filet, and rice was well-made, had tender fish, and had a nice, cheesy top. The only thing is their prices are on the higher side but the food was high-quality when I ate here. Service is friendly and excellent here. ”

“ Place is spacious and clean. Most of the menu is around 16-20 $ , the steak is around 28-35$ I really like the food ! Especially the monggolian beef and sweet sour pork. First time here, feel like the atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is fast responding and friendly. The flavors are bold and satisfying, and the portions are generous for the price. The Mongolian beef was tender, and the sweet and sour pork had the perfect balance of flavors. Although the steak is a bit pricier, it's definitely worth trying ! Overall, I'm really impressed and will definitely be coming back to try more items from the menu! ”

“ Growing up, this was one of the HK cafe I frequently visited in the SGV area. It's a small dingy place but it gives the vibes of your typically HK cafe because of all the posters of HK/Taiwanese concert posters flooding the entrance of the restaurant and the old style homey interior. I love this type of mom n pop shops over the "modern" and "minimalistic" look. We came on New Years Day and it was slightly busy depending on when you get there. We got there around 11am and it wasn't bad, but an hour later there was a line waiting. We came for the lunch special which was between 11-3pm, and the food is serve with a complimentary cold/warm drink (cold drink has an additional cost). I got the Baked Pork Chops in Tomato Sauce and the sauce was good, but for some reason I felt like the flavor didn't stick to the spaghetti like I'm used to. It felt bland for some reason even though I stirred the spaghetti and the sauce. It taste like they didn't salt the spaghetti. I'm giving it a 6/10 compare to other shops I been to. The Wonton Dish was pretty good, I enjoyed it like that instead of in a soup base. It was simple and packed with flavor. The only thing I didn't like from this experience was that it took 30 minutes for the server to serve us our drinks after we placed our order. It looks like they are understaffed so expect long delays in getting your food. ”

“ Takes credit card Beef chow fun $14.95- decent. Good flavor, lots of noodles, but was lacking wok hei and char $26.50- lamb stew with bean curd- a little disappointing. Lots of lamb beef but lots of bone. The flavor wasn't too strong $17.95- mushroom braised seafood and egg tofu- excellent dish. Variety of fish and scallop, shrimp on top. The egg tofu- was perfectly soft inside and fried outside. ”

“ This used to be one my childhood favorite restaurants and looks like they still have a large portion of the same dishes that it has had 15 years ago. I like that they open very late, I believe 2 am on a weekday. Surprisingly quite a bit of customers at 9 pm but no wait to grab a table. These are the dishes that I tried Chicken Ala King with Rice - My childhood dish! It's like creamy chicken alfredo on rice. It's unique and I've never seen another restaurant have this. (4.5/5) Sanpan Congee - Super delicious congee with so many different types of meats, seafoods, and veggies all in one. Loved it. (4.5/5) Overall this place is solid for late night eats. Service was pretty fast, they refilled our water, and I feel like prices are pretty reasonable for HK style foods. ”

“ The service was fast and friendly. It is a small cafe restaurant that has an outdoor patio. We came to eat here around 7pm and we were recommended to try a noodle dish that I thought was pretty good. This location is shared with Embassy and the parking lot was very full. There are also street parking too. We got our check and we laughed about it and asked what it meant. They said that our order got printed out of 2 machines so they had to notate don't do it to another cook so they don't make double orders and cause food waste. We also bumped into another group of friends, so that was nice. ”

“ We used to frequent our local Phoenix Food Boutique for late-night Chinese food, but in recent years, Phoenix's food quality decreased and they scaled back their business hours. So one day, we discovered Tasty Choice in San Gabriel and never looked back. Tasty Choice SG is now one of our favorite late-night hangout spots, along with the HK Macau Bistro down the street. As of writing, Tasty Choice is open till 2 AM and closed Mondays, which is our kind of hours. Last call is at 1:30 AM, so I advise coming in before then. Their rice dishes and veggies are top-notch, but their noodle dishes are not as good as HK Macau Bistro's. There is some overlap between the menu items between the two restaurants, but both have some unique menu items. Wonton noodle soup though is pretty good here. Our go-to dishes include the pork rib in Peking sauce as well as the sauteed string bean. The shrimp and egg on rice entree is also awesome and tastes a lot like egg drop soup on rice. And the Japanese-style salmon and seafood fried rice is excellent too. And although my girlfriend and I are trad in a cuisine sense and hate fusion food in general, we were pleasantly surprised with the "German style pig's knuckle," even though it tasted like it had a lot of five-spice powder in it, which is more Chinese. Sometimes the garnishes on them differ depending on who is working the kitchen that night (sometimes we'll get more onions on the entrees or very little, for example). Overall, you can't seem to go wrong with most of the menu items. We always try something new every time we come, but we have our favorite staples listed above. Outdoor dining is available, but sometimes there are people smoking there. We don't smoke, so often times we just eat indoors, but if you get a seat next to the outdoor dining area, cigarette smoke can sometimes waft in. Staff here is very friendly and recognize us now as regulars (they even know what drinks we enjoy, P.S. the HK milk tea and coffee and Thai iced tea here are very good. Really love the passion fruit slush here too), and have reasonable communication skills, though I can tell with some of them that English is definitely not their first language. I can't speak Mandarin or Cantonese very well, and my girlfriend can't speak them at all, but they are very forgiving of that. Menu items are reasonably priced and portion sizes are designed for sharing. They've been in business since 1998 from what I hear, so I hope they stick around forever. ”
